DNC trumpets ‘religiously unaffiliated’ as ‘overwhelmingly’ sharing the Democratic Party’s values

DETROIT (ChurchMilitant.com) – The Democratic Party is making itself a haven for the non-religious.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) approved a resolution on Aug. 24 that speaks approvingly of the “religiously unaffiliated,” also known as “Nones.” The resolution points out that Nones represent a large share of the Democrats’ voting base.

“The religiously unaffiliated demographic represents the largest religious group within the Democratic Party,” the resolution says, “growing from 19% in 2007 to one-in-three today.”

It notes that Nones “overwhelmingly share the Democratic Party’s values, with 70% voting for Democrats in 2018, 80% supporting same-sex marriage, and 61% saying immigrants make American society stronger.”
