President Trump was also popular in Central America
Vice President Kamala Harris’ much anticipated “foreign policy” trip to Guatemala to meet with leaders there about what can be done to stem the influx of illegal immigrants that are crossing into the U.S. from that country, got off to a bad start with Air Force 2 having to turn around because of “technical issue” and was then being greeted by pro-Trump, anti-Biden Guatemalan protestors.
“It is a technical issue. There are no major safety concerns,” said Symone Sanders, spokeswoman for VP Harris.
But after boarding a new plane and taking the 4 1/2 hour flight to Guatemala, protestors were at the Guatemalan Air Force base waiting for the vice president with open arms and signs. Big signs.
One sign simply stated, “Kamala, TRUMP WON,” another told the vice president that “Guatemala as pro-life,” and another want to her to “go home.”
Harris has been at the focus of ridicule by Republican members of Congress like Florida Rep. Scott Franklin, for not directly addressing the border crisis, even as President Joe Biden appointed her to take full control of addressing the immigration issue along the U.S. southern border with Mexico. Harris has yet to hold a press conference specifically to discuss the ongoing border crisis.
GUATEMALANS TO KAMALA HARRIS: CLUELESS YANKEE GO HOME
By PAUL MIRENGOFF | POWERLINE
Kamala Harris is visiting Guatemala carrying this message from Joe Biden: “Guatemalans stay home.” Indeed, according to this New York Post report, Harris pleaded with potential migrants not to come to U.S.
Begging people not to do what they clearly believe is in their interests isn’t much of a strategy for dealing with the border crisis. Thus, it’s not surprising that Harris isn’t being well received.
Protesters greeted Harris with such signs as “Trump won,” “Kamala, Go home,” “Kamala, Mind Your Own Business,” “Guatemala is pro-life,” and “Kamala Stop Funding Criminals.”
It’s not clear from any report I’ve seen how many people participated in the anti-Harris protests. It’s possible that the numbers were small.
But Harris also received disapproval from Guatemala’s president, Alejandro Giammattei. He told CBS News that the Biden administration is to blame for sparking the migration crisis.
That’s certainly true. As Giammattei says, when Biden took office, the U.S. message changed to: “‘We’re going to reunite families, we’re going to reunite children.’ The very next day, the coyotes were here organizing groups of children to take them to the United States.”
Giammattei concluded by stating that he and Harris “are not on the same side of the coin” on migration. I’ll say.
I doubt that Benjamin Franklin could have made much headway selling Biden’s positions on migration to Guatemala. I also doubt that Kamala Harris is taken seriously by officials in that country. Beyond the office she holds, there’s no reason why she should be.
KAGAN Writes 9-0 Supreme Court Opinion Rejecting Liz Warren’s Subversion of Immigration Law
BY TYLER O’NEIL | P J MEDIA
On Monday, the Supreme Court unanimously rejected an illegal immigrant’s attempt to twist immigration law and create a loophole that would allow thousands of illegal immigrants to become lawful permanent residents. Democratic senators and attorneys general advocated for this loophole, but a liberal justice wrote the opinion for a unanimous Court.
“Petitioner Jose Santos Sanchez entered this country unlawfully from El Salvador. Years later, because of unsafe living conditions in that country, the Government granted him Temporary Protected Status (TPS), entitling him to stay and work in the United States for as long as those conditions persist,” Associate Justice Elena Kagan, an Obama appointee, wrote in the opinion. “Sanchez now wishes to become a lawful permanent resident (LPR) of the United States. The question here is whether the conferral of TPS enables him to obtain LPR status despite his unlawful entry. We hold that it does not,”
In Sanchez v. Mayorkas, Kagan noted that U.S. immigration law, “applied according to its plain terms,” “prevents Sanchez from becoming an LPR. There is no dispute that Sanchez ‘entered the United States in the late 1990s unlawfully, without inspection.’”
Yet Democrats and immigration activists twist the law to argue that if an illegal immigrant obtains temporary protected status due to violence or bad conditions in his or her home country, he or she can be considered “admitted” for the purposes of obtaining LPR status. While TPS does protect illegal immigrants from removal and authorizes them to work in the U.S. as long as the TPS designation lasts, the Court rightly ruled that this provision does not erase a person’s unlawful entry into the U.S. for permanent residency status.
Kagan’s conclusion is blunt: U.S. law “generally requires a lawful admission before a person can obtain LPR status. Sanchez was not lawfully admitted, and his TPS does not alter that fact. He therefore cannot become a permanent resident of this country.”
This decision will come as a blow to many Democrats. Sens. Mazi Hirono (D-Hawaii), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) joined Reps. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.), Darren Soto (D-Fla.), and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) in supporting Sanchez’s claim. Democrat attorneys general for Washington, D.C., Massachusetts, California, and 17 other states also backed the illegal immigration loophole.
Kagan’s opinion represents a blunt refutation of this sleight-of-hand attempt to undermine immigration law. Jonathan Turley has suggested that the Court’s recent string of unanimous decisions like this one may be a subtle message to Democrats, warning them against packing the Supreme Court. While Turley has a point, the Supreme Court often hands down unanimous decisions — yet these decisions do not often gain the same coverage as 5-4 rulings on controversial issues.
Immigration advocates will lament the fact that many of the 400,000 people with temporary protected status are illegal immigrants and that these people will not be able to become permanent residents. Yet blatant violations of immigration law do not disappear when Congress grants illegal immigrants a temporary status due to horrible conditions in their home countries.
The Court made the right decision in this case.
SHOCKER: Illegal Border Crossings by Venezuelans Up More Than 8000%

You read that right. Customs and Border Patrol, (CBP) reports that 10,864 Venezuelans have crossed the border this fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2020—in just the Del Rio sector. The Del Rio sector covers 47 counties and 245 miles of border along the Rio Grande in Southwest Texas. Last fiscal year the number of illegal immigrants from Venezuela was 135. If my calculator is accurate, that’s a 7947.71% increase. All thanks to Gropey Joe Biden.
Epoch Times reporter Charlotte Cuthbertson tweeted a video of Venezuelans in Texas waiting to get a lift by CBP to a processing center. One is seen on his phone utilizing his international phone plan.
It’s the same drill every time: people cross illegally, welcoming troopers hand them water and granola bars, the immigrants relieve themselves in the tall carrizo cane reeds and are soon picked up by CBP and driven to processing centers and then released. If you want to know why Kamala Harris hasn’t gone to the border it’s because she doesn’t need to. Things at the border are operating just as the Biden administration wants them to.
More than 119,000 illegal immigrants from 70 countries have been “apprehended” in the Del Rio sector alone so far this fiscal year.
Many of the illegal Venezuelans told The Epoch Times their route to the U.S. involved flying to Cancún then to Monterrey, Mexico, before crossing the river into Del Rio. Some came through Colombia. Most Venezuelans carry more belongings than people coming from Central America. A large portion of them plan to settle in Florida, where they have family members.
Del Rio’s Chief Patrol Agent Austin Skero tweeted that his officers encountered, not apprehended, over 5,8000 immigrants from 29 countries in seven days.
The only potential positive I can see here is that Venezuelans, having watched their own once-great nation destroyed by socialism, will Vote Trump in 2024.

National security remains our number one priority and knowing who or what is entering our country is key. In just the last 7 days, our agents have encountered over 5,800 migrants from 29 different countries. During this same time, 63 smuggling attempts were caught on our highways.
